FOUNDATION · 8 MIN READ
WordPress SEO starts with a site people can understand.
A useful SEO foundation is not a checklist of tricks. It is a clear site structure, accurate page information, technically accessible content and a way to measure what changed.

Start with purpose, not a score.
Search engines are trying to connect people with pages that answer a need. Before changing a title or adding more words, be clear about the page’s job: explain a service, answer a question, sell a product, support an existing customer or help someone compare options.
Give every important page one primary purpose. That makes its headline, copy, links and metadata easier to keep coherent.
Make important pages distinct.
Every indexable page needs useful, visible content that is meaningfully different from nearby pages. Use a descriptive page heading, write for the reader’s actual question, and keep the page title and description accurate to the content.
Do not treat fixed title or description lengths as ranking rules. They are controllable inputs and search engines may present them differently. Accuracy and relevance are the durable aim.
Keep technical controls honest.
Use canonical URLs to describe the preferred version of near-duplicate pages. Keep XML sitemaps limited to pages you want indexed. Use noindex only where it is intentional. Redirect permanently moved pages to their closest useful replacement.
Schema should describe content that exists visibly on the page. It is not a way to manufacture rich results.
Measure before guessing.
Connect Google Search Console to see verified search impressions, clicks and queries. Keep that separate from PageSpeed measurements and from your own on-page action score. Each tells you something different.
RankLyra brings those signals into one WordPress workflow, then points back to the page and the next safe action.
